Completing (for now) my Guardians fan art.  Gamora!  Pen and ink on card stock. Heavy digital work.

More Guardians fan art, Drax!  I did this initially with the pen brush, but I did heavy digital work to fix some mistake in real world.  In the end, it was about 80% real pen and ink 20% digital fix.
I’ve got some of my fan art for sale in my online store, btw.  Along with other cool stuff.  ”Dance Sprout Dance” and the original pen and ink of the Groot image and Rocket image. Buy some things. I could use the boost.  Thanks!

This might be my last piece of Guardians fan art for the weekend.  This was pen and ink on 8.5 x 11 card stock.  Digital color and effects.

Continuing with my theme of weekend Guardians of the Galaxy fan art, I give you StarLord.  Pen and ink. Colored digitally.
Here’s the raw pen and ink as posted on Instagram:
For those who missed it, I have my Groot print in my online store as well as the original pen and ink drawing for anyone who wants the original art.

I’m on a tear today. Here is the Inevitable Groot fan art, painted. I’ve seen a lot of fan art of (SPOILER) Baby Groot, but none that brings Groot’s special powers into the mix.  Maybe there is.  If there is. I apologize.  Pen and ink. 8,5 x 11. Digital Paint.

I got a new pen yesterday - A Pentel Pocket brush pen.  After two years of working digitally, I decided to try to go back to do some real pen and ink work.  It took a little time to get used to, but I like it.  Its refillable, unlike the Pitt pens I had been using for the past seven years or so.  That will take some getting used to, but all in good time.
I’m on a Guardians Of The Galaxy trip this week, as is everyone else, so I decided to test out my pen with a Rocket Raccoon image.  I posted the raw pen and ink on Instagram earlier today.

I scanned it in and painted digitally in Photoshop.  It feels pretty cool to go back to the way I used to do things.  I think I’ve improved my skills using the Cintiq that working in the real world feels more natural.  Funny how that happens.

Original digital pencil sketch for my “Mother of Dragons” piece.

Incidentally, I created a fine art section for my online store where I’ll be selling original sketches and limited edition gallery prints.  This is different than my other prints in that most of my other prints are unlimited non-numbered prints.  If you are looking for some cool gallery-worthy art, check that out here.

A D&D Commission I did earlier today.  I was really happy with it until the customer said he wanted black and white instead.  Whoops!  Did that version for him.  Keeping this one for myself.

This week is a very big week for my art!  If you’re heading to #SDCC this week, be sure you visit Michael J Wolf Fine Art Gallery for the #ArtOfTheGeek exhibit.  I’m one of 14 artists who will be exhibiting work during the event. I have created a Game of Thrones print EXCLUSIVELY for the show, and for the first time I have my limited edition Breaking Bad piece for sale.  You’ll also be able to see my Worf Vs. Chewbacca piece that was created for a Hollywood Comic Con party this year.  The show opens on the 23rd and runs until the 27th.  The gallery is in the heart of the Gaslamp district, so it’s very easy to find. Check it out and maybe pick up a piece for your home!

In addition, I will have a piece in the Batman 75th anniversary show at  Carol & John’s Comics.  The show opens on the 26th and runs al weekend.  I’m very proud of that piece, so check it out.  There will be limited edition prints of my piece available for sale.

I’m very excited to be a part of these art shows. I hope this leads to brand new things!  Please support independent artists!
